I had finished this old piano stool with some chalk paint and dark wax, featuring antique sheet music on the top of the seat, decoupaged with Mod Podge…
Then a friend bought the stool from me and had a request for a custom paint job on the inside … which was still unpainted:
The only brief she gave me was some stripes in the colours blue and Mustard yellow. So I used Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Flow Blue (August colour of the month), and Mustard Seed Yellow to create this grain stripe pattern inside:
My friend, Deanne, who bought this, is our worship leader at church, so I decided to add the Bible reference, Psalm 150 to the inside also. (see below for what it says for a clue to why I picked this reference).
Deanne loved it and so this is what she sits on to play her keyboard and write music in her spare time!

Here’s Psalm 150 for you to read. Coming from a musical family and being married to a recording engineer, I know a lot of drummers who would get off on those last few lines about the clashing cymbals! The writer of this song, sure knew how to party, and so does my friend, Deanne!
1 Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heaven!
2 Praise him for his mighty works;
praise his unequaled greatness!
3 Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;
praise him with the lyre and harp!
4 Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
praise him with strings and flutes!
5 Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
