One of the places I go to find treasures to up-cycle is the Salvo’s. It was there that I came across this lovely little sewing table for about $45.[twentytwenty]

Prepping:
I brought it home, gave it a quick rough sand with my SandiHands sanding glove – SO easy to use for these quick paint makeovers.
Painting:
Then mixed up Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in the colour Eulalie’s Sky using about 1/2 cup of milk paint powder and 1/2 cup of water. This is enough for two coats on this project. In fact I had left over and was able to paint a couple of frames too.
Then after it dried (Milk Paint is so quick to dry, but recommended time is an hour or so), I gave it a smooth sanding using a 320 grit sanding hand on my SandiHands glove. This gave a lovely smooth finish and helped to knock off the edges for a distressed aged appearance on the paint finish.
Finishing:
For a beautiful finish I used Miss Mustard Seed’s Furniture Wax (clear) applying it all over including the wood top, which I had simply cleaned and gently sanded, leaving the original finish still intact. It gave it a new lease of life and lustre!
To apply wax:
Using either a lint free cloth or our MMSMP Medium Wax/Paint brush (my preferred method), apply the wax to the entire surface, brushing or rubbing in as you would hand cream.
Leave for 3-5 minutes then buff with a lint free cloth back and forth until you see a nice sheen. I had also painted the chair in Eulalie’s sky. I love the way Milk Paint flakes away in random places, giving it a great aged patina.
