This is a super easy tutorial using two tea towels. I had a few projects on the go this weekend. A couple of little tables, one of which I was finishing for a friend. More about those next time. I am getting a few cushions finished ready for a Mother’s Day stall this next weekend, and pulled out a few new tea towels I’d bought from Spotlight for this purpose.
I love these two with contrasting stripe patterns:
And I had a pillow insert just the right size. The size on the tag says 42×69 (cm).
After sewing around three edges and part way down the fourth, leaving enough room to insert the pillow, I turned it inside out and pressed it. It’s a perfect fit. With the open edge pressed inwards, you could either hand sew it together, or add 3 press studs along the edge for easy removal of the pillow for washing.
I love the beautiful grain sack appearance and French Linen feel of these stripes and the “hand-stitched” look of the red thread.
I hope you enjoyed this easy tutorial. You can find more tutorials by browsing my other blog posts or using the search bar at the top right of this page.
