What would you do?
As for me, I couldn’t pass up these lovely silky oak antique drawers when I saw them at only $5 each.
As you can see, I’ve given them a light sanding. Looks like the finish was probably shellac. They were a perfect project for Milk Paint colour, Arabesque.
And I was right! Just perfect! I painted the interior of the drawers with another colour – Marzipan. I love the creamy beige tone that pairs perfectly with the Arabesque colour.
For this project I gave two coats of each of the Milk Paint colours, and used Furniture Wax to seal and buff for a lovely finish.
Check out my mum’s beautiful roses from her garden. When she brought them around on her work day with me, I knew I had to include them in this little photo shoot!
And those are my very own vintage pointe shoes from my ballet days …
Here’s a closer look at the Marzipan colour inside the drawers, and another quick and easy project I made using an old frame:
Painted with Arabesque, and distressed for a chippy look, I sealed with Tough Coat Sealer to prevent any further chipping.
I then printed a silhouette of ballet pointe shoes onto a vintage dictionary page (A5 size).

Side by side on a large desk for organisational purposes:
