What a fun day we had on the first International Milk Paint Demo Day held by Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint retailers all over the world – and stay tuned for big news on my shop space – yay!
I decided to take part, and even though I’m mostly an online retailer and blogger, I still hold painting workshops in my local home-based studio and they are lots of fun!
So our Milk Paint Demo Day – 27th January, 2018 – was held at 10am and as advertised, I went LIVE over on my Facebook page so that others who weren’t able to attend, could join in with us.

As my friend, Wendy from Front Porch Mercantile says: “If you can mix hot chocolate, you can mix milk paint.”
We had 7 ladies attend as our “live audience” and they were good sports and even asked questions and joined in the fun as you’ll see on the above demo video.

I moved into our shop space upstairs at Camp Hill Antique Centre last week!

Here are some fun pics of us moving in, adding shiplap to the existing partition walls and moving the furniture in, as well as some of the things I’ve added during the week.
Eric and Marty successfully carried about 6 of these panels around the antique jewellry counters and upstairs!
The partition walls were looking pretty ordinary, so we opted for Shiplap to pretty it up a bit.
Fusion Mineral Paint features:
I used Fusion’s Sterling (a soft grey) to paint the shiplap walls – they are made of MDF and come in sheet panels which was perfect to measure up and add to the walls in my shop space.
Holding up the walls … because that is important!
See the end capping on the far right hand side of the shiplap wall? I painted these in Fusion’s Casement – the perfect white that is just slightly off white, but still a white-white.
And see those wooden beams above the booth (below pic)? There are 3 of them, and all stained using Fusion’s Antiquing Tough Coat wipe-on poly. It makes a lovely natural looking timber stain, don’t you think?
