Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint colour – Mora
I don’t even remember where I picked up these rattan back chairs along my furniture collecting travels, but I do know they were sitting in my “to do” pile for a long time – probably years. I took off the red velvet fabric and set them aside to create a seat after painting the chairs.
It’s a great idea to give your furniture a light scuff sand before painting with Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint. These had an existing varnish that was quite old and sanded back well.
Mora
I decided on Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint colour, Mora – shown in the image below on my sample board. Each sample board shows the MMS Milk Paint colour in a natural wax (centre of board), Antiquing Wax and the White Wax, making it easier for customers to see the finished look of a colour with the additional decorative waxes.
Miss Mustard Seed describes Mora as a neutral with grey, blue and green undertones. The colour is named for the famous curvy clocks from Mora, Sweden. It is one of the colours in Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint European range.

Finishing the Rattan Back Chairs
For the seats, I cut out some white washed chambray fabric and added these grain sack stripes to the seat, then upholstered it to the new foam seat bases.
Here’s the finished chairs. My beautiful work experience lady, Amy, took these pretty pics and styled these shots for me.
I like the way the Milk Paint sands back to a lightly distressed finish. I sealed these chairs in Miss Mustard Seed’s Furniture Wax.
Our pretty cat, Missy decided she wanted to join in our photo shoot.
