Before: ready to sand (drawers taken out for sanding)
Driving past the Second Hand Shop, I noticed they were having a moving sale. A quick u-turn and a dash inside to look for furniture, because who knows that if you are moving a store, you don’t want to lug big items with you to the next place so I was ready to bargain.
When I saw the study desk had no price marked on it, I asked the owner how much it was, fully expecting the usual op-shop price for a desk like this around the $45+ mark. I was ready to haggle until my jaw dropped at his answer: $10!

Sanded ready for painting.
Sold! And off to I Restore Stuff it goes …
I fully sanded the top back to raw wood ready to stain. I love this VJ type panelled look on the sides of the desk and across the back.
And after two coats:
I love the grain in this desk top even though its just a plain pine timber. There’s something about raw wood that gets me excited to dress it up with some stain!
