Wood Refinishing Workshop – Sealing, Staining, Washes, Waxing & more

In this workshop, you’ll learn several different options for refinishing your old (or new) wood surfaces!

Learn skills to refinish your furniture, creating a beautiful modern or vintage surface for a completely fresh look.

• Workshop is held in Bahrs Scrub. About 45 mins south of Brisbane CBD.
• Bookings are essential. Spaces are limited to give more personalised instruction.
• Includes 2 hour hands on workshop, and light refreshments.
• 10% off all paint products on the day if you’d like to purchase any of the furniture paints and DIY products featured in my online shop.

After you have booked your place, you will be sent further details including address, etc. closer to the workshop day.

In our 2 hour Wood Refinishing Workshop you will learn how to:

• strip and/or sand your original surface to begin the process of refinishing.
• tell the difference between substrates or finishes that exist on old and newer furniture to know what you’re working with.
• stain using both water based and oil based stains (using Artisan Stain & Seal and Fusion’s Stain & Finishing Oil.
• create a stain wash using paint.
• seal & protect your wood surfaces – and the difference between a stain and a sealer.

Leave with the knowledge you’ll need to complete your next furniture painted piece with a nice wood surface. Whether you are wanting to paint part of your piece and leave one surface wood, or refinish the entire piece with a stain or clear finish, this will help you gain confidence in your choices of materials and supplies.

All materials supplied. We will be using some sample boards to practice some different finishes, and I will also be demonstrating some of the refinishing techniques.

With step-by-step instructions and hands on assistance, these workshops are lots of fun!
