I found this little vintage bedside at our local Salvos Store and brought it home for a little TLC. During a recent series of lives on my Facebook page, I did 5 tutorials on things that could be upcycled around your home, including frames, tins, chairs, tea towels/cushions or bedside tables.
During my 5 days of Lives on my Facebook page, I painted the bedside with Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in the colour, Boxwood. Below is the replay of the live so you can see how I applied it and for more details on my best tips for painting with Milk Paint.
If you’ve never used Milk Paint before, it comes in powdered form, and you mix the powder with equal parts water – super easy.
I often get asked, “What’s the difference between Milk Paint, Chalk Paint and Mineral Paint?” so I actually wrote a detailed post about the differences HERE.
Once the Boxwood colour was completely dried and after two coats to give it a full coverage, I sanded back lightly using about a 320-400 sanding grit on my Sandi Hands Sanding Gloves.
I went live on my Facebook page again the following week to show how I finished off the bedside cupboard in Miss Mustard Seed’s Hemp Oil. Here’s the replay of that live video below:
You can find the cute Vintage Canning Labels here in both Printed and Digital copies.
Here’s the finished look of the vintage bedside.
At the time of this writing I have a few of these leather pulls and handles in various colours. They really are a fun modern twist on a vintage piece like this.
